I'd love to see Amare and Al Jefferson in a Pistons jersey. How about analyzing the trade idea involving the above 2 players with Rip, Tay and Charlie V leaving Detroit.

To Abe C. I see Thabeet as a more athletic Mutombo. Remember, Detroit had some good years, including a Championship with Ben Wallace. Thabeet probably won't be the rebounder that Big Ben is, but the defense I think he can provide. Joe D. went all offense with BG and Charlie V. to the point where whomever they get to play center will have to be a very good defensive presence. You can only play with one ball, and Stuckey, BG, and Charlie V. will take most of the shots. Add Jerebko, who I really, really like, to the mix, and there are very few shots left for anyone. team chemistry demands a non-scorer.

To Marcus Taylor. I did do my homework, and if you read my post carefully I didn't say that we where getting Boozer or Amare. I said Detroit needs A big like Boozer or Stoudamire. Now maybe Phoenix or Utah would not want to trade these guys to Detroit but the rumors I've been hearing, Rip or Tay may be traded. And these where the 2 names that popped out in the trade rumors for them. David Lee would also be a good guy for detroit. Now I'm not saying it's going to happen but is just a thought. With all do respect, I don't think Thabeet will be a good fit for Detroit either. He is a good shot blocker but we need a big who's a consistent rebounder and scorer. Have you noticed how detroit has been struggling in the center position this year. Big Ben has been awesome but he is not a scorer. When Mcdysse was a piston he helped alot scoring, rebounding etc. So saying that we dont need a center who has to score or demand the ball doesn't make sense to me because that's where I think Detroit is the weakest. I think Detroit has enough shooters at the point so a center who can score would make Detroit a contender.

To Abe C. You also have to look at what the other team wants. Do u really think Utah wants Tay? They already have a solid Sf, and a pretty good young backup behind him. Rip could fit their offense as a SG, but does that make them championship contenders? No. So the deal doesn't make sense for them. Rip nor Tay fit in with Phoenix, so that's a no-go as well. My deal with Memphis makes them a contender. Out west you have to be able to matchup with the Lakers and their frontline and depth. My trade allows Memphis to do that. The Pistons need a Center that rebounds, is an intimidator inside, and doesn't need the ball. Thabeet fits that. Charlie V. at PF, SF Jerebko, SG Gordon, PG Stuckey. You need the kind of center I described. Do your homework before trying to put down my ideas.

To Abe C. I may be crazy, but my scenarios bring young talent to Detroit that could mesh with the rest of the young talent to become an uptempo team and compete for years. Boozer is a good player, but what position would he play? Center? Stoudemire, same thing. Not legit trade scenarios for either player. Look at how Portland has built their team. You get a young nucleus and build around them if you want to do it right. If you as a fan want to see Detroit win CHAMPIONSHIPS, there's no way you want Boozer or Stoudemire. What good would be getting to the playoffs only to lose in the first round and have on of those guys eating up your cap space?

Detroit: Gets the best player in the deal, Lee. David is a legit frontcourt player, and is still somewhat underrated. Pistons can sign him an extension for 9 or 10 million per year. Also, Curry and Jeffries contracts only go through next season, so we would be cutting the long-term cost of Rip & Maxiell deals, and have movable assets next season in Jeffries and Curry's expiring contracts. Scalabrine is an expiring contract……
Knicks: Knicks clear salary cap space for this off-season. They get rid of both Jeffries and Curry's contracts, allowing them to offer max contracts to two guys.
Boston: They go all-in for the next 2-3 years. Something else might need to be thrown in the deal to get them to pull the trigger. They've apparently started shopping Ray Allen; they might find what they are looking for make a run for the ring. It gives them a pair of vets with championship experience: Rip and Tay. Gives them a lot of match-up flexibility with small ball like Rondo/Rip/Pierce/Tay/KG.Maxiell adds interior defence. Robinson means points off the bench…….

You Guys are all crazy with these stupid trade ideas. Joe Dumars wouldn't make any dumb trades like that for Rip, Ben, Tayshaun or anyone else. Are you kidding me. The Pistons are trying to get a big like Boozer or Amare for Rip and possibly someone else. Or maybe trade Tay and someone for Boozer or Stoudamire. That is more of a legitimate possibility. I'm not saying that's what's gonna happen but it's been rumored that Rip or Tay maybe traded. Detroit is trying to become what they where in the past, a eastern conference contender and eventually a world championship organization.

Here's another trade idea. hamilton, B. Wallace and Atkins to Memphis for Thabeet, Arthur, Young, and Hunter. Memphis needs perimeter depth for the playoffs, Rip gives them playoff exp'd depth and with Ben coming off the bench behind Randolph and/or Gasol, they could scare some teams. Thabeet reminds me of a young, more athletic Mutombo, Hunter only has one year left and is just a fill in for the season, and Young has good athleticism to help in a more uptempo style of play. I liked Arthur in college, maybe he has value also.

I've got one for you. Rip, Bynum, and Big Ben to Washington for Haywood, McGee, and James. Washington needs a replacement for Arenas, Bynum provides similar play, Rip gives the veteran help and Ben is Ben. Haywood shouldn't be too hard to re-sign and is a big body, and rebounder, shot-blocker that doesn't command the ball. McGee is a young local promising development project that, and James is needed to make it work cap wise. I don't believe Rip fits an uptempo style too well, and Prince could be trade as well for a combo guard and picks. It's time to let the young guys play, including Summers, and see what happens. Rip and Tay are in the way.
