I think everybody mis-understands what Joe D is doing. Superstar free agents rarely leave their own teams because they can make more money with their current teams than by leaving. It rarely makes sense financially. Joe's best shot at a superstar big might be via sign and trade and you can't do that without tradeable assets. Is Gordon the best fit? No, but he is a tradeable asset. If Bosh wants to leave Toronto, the Raptors will trade him before they give him up as a free agent, and it will make more sense for Bosh because Toronto can give him more money than anybody else. If you look at Joe's acquisitions this year, he is aiming to replace Hamilton and or Prince.

We will do better than last year. But I thought the whole Iverson trade was for the BIG picture. Joe Dumars is not thinkin straight with signing Ben Gordon unless he is going to let go of Rip during the season. He was supposed to save that cap money for 2010. Should we look for a new GM? He's tearing us down not building us up with an overloaded back court and no true big man.

The Rake,

Besides center, in what way do you think the Pistons are headed in the wrong direction?

No, they won't be as good as the conference finals teams. But they'll be better than 39 wins and eighth seed.

And sorry about the previous comment. We changed our comment system about when you posted it, and I think it got lost in the transition. I found it now and approved it. Thanks for sending the link, and keep them coming. It's always appreciated.

Team turmoil is not defined as the worst teams in the league. Everyone knows the Wolves and Grizz are shitty. It is defineid as a team that looks to be heading in the wrong direction. By that definition, right or wrong, I think the Pistons have legitimate questions that need to be answered. A lot more questions than answers coming from a team and organization that usually has very high expectations. That IS turmoil and I am a die hard Pistons fan. (I believe I also gave you that article too in a previous comment-no props?)
