Did the Pistons sign Deron Washington?

The Daily Press reported Virginia Tech men’s basketball coach Seth Greenberg tweeted Deron Washington had signed with the Pistons. Matt Watson of Detroit Bad Boys posted Greenberg’s tweet:

congrats to Deron Washington for signing a guaranteed contract with the Pistons Great to have a Hokie in the league!

But that tweet no longer appears on Greenberg’s Twitter page. And the Pistons haven’t announced the signing. So, what gives?

Odds are Greenberg had some misinformation and removed the tweet upon realizing. Maybe Washington was told he could earn a guaranteed contract with a strong summer-league showing.
